The AAB is published for release verification and distribution workflows. It is not installed directly by an end user.

02 / Install on device

Install on Android 13 or later.

  1. Download the APK on the Android device.
  2. Open it from the browser or Files application.
  3. If Android asks for permission, allow unknown-app installation only for the application that opened this APK.
  4. Complete installation, then disable that permission again.
  5. Open M2 and create a Channel, scan a QR invitation, or paste an invitation link into Join Channel.
Verified M2 invitation links open Join Channel when M2 is installed. If M2 is locked, it keeps the pending invitation encrypted until unlock. If automatic opening is unavailable, copy the complete link and use the explicit Paste button in Join Channel.

03 / Verify checksum

Confirm that the file matches the public release.

04 / Verify signer

Verify the signing certificate.

Version, per-artifact version code, source-tree digest, artifact URLs, and hashes are also published in the release manifest.

The immutable release also publishes the reviewed source-tree archive, mapping/debug symbols, CycloneDX inventory, and third-party notices.

05 / Troubleshooting

If installation does not complete.

“App not installed”

Recheck the SHA-256, available storage, and whether an existing installation uses a different signer.

Device architecture is unknown

Use the larger Universal APK.

Connectivity is not immediately ready

Embedded Tor may need time to establish a circuit on first launch. M2 does not switch to a public gateway when Tor is unavailable.

The app is not in Google Play

The public AAB does not imply Play Store publication. The signed APK on this site is the current public installation path.
